Jota

Jota is a self-hosted music app for desktop and mobile: browse Spotify, play the audio through YouTube, and start a room over a relay you own. No cloud, no tracking, no subscriptions.

It is a personal project, not affiliated with Spotify, Google or any music label, released under the GPL-3.0 license. The source is on GitHub and ready-made binaries for Linux, Windows, macOS and Android live on Releases.

Two sources, one player

Browse Spotify and YouTube side by side and play either from the same queue and search bar. Spotify is optional — the YouTube side works standalone. Turn any track into a station, mix your own playlists from both sources, and follow artists, channels and profiles from a single shelf.

Home with saved playlists from Spotify and YouTubeSearch across Spotify and YouTubeRooms: queue and playback sync across devices

Cross-platform, built in Go

Built with Go and Wails 3 over a Preact and TypeScript frontend, it compiles to native binaries for Linux (.deb, .rpm, .AppImage, .flatpak and AUR), Android, Windows and macOS, with in-place auto-update and SHA256 verification.
